All blades are 440C stainless steel. Both blade and brass can be cleaned using Brasso or your favorite brass/metal cleaner. After handling, wipe blades with a soft flannel cloth to remove fingerprints, as the salts, overtime, etch the finger prints into the blade, even stainless steel. Never store your knife in a sheath for long periods of time, as the tanning acids can affect the blades appearance.

To protect ivory artifacts, do not display in direct sunlight or close to a heat source, including bulbs. Display cases should have a light source directed from outside the case to avoid creating an "oven " effect. Monthly, brush ivory with a light coat of pure mineral oil (no alcohol). This is especially important in hot, dry climates or 24-hour air-conditioning.

The blade is 100% guaranteed for what it was designed for: skinning, slicing and cutting. Due to the characteristics of natural materials, handled cannot be guaranteed against checking or shrinking with age or climate changes. But with sensible care your knife can become a cherished family heirloom.
